An integrated calibration sensor, HDR support, and a native 4096 x 2160 screen are just a few of the notable features of the 32" Eizo ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG3146 HDR Reference Monitor. The monitor supports 99% of the DCI-P3 color space and is suited for use in evaluating HDR images. The built-in calibration sensor drops down from the top of the monitor and, using available calibration software, allows you to create a profile to ensure the monitor is displaying image accurately. The CG3146 takes only three minutes from being turned on to stabilize and be ready for use, as opposed to other monitors that take 30 minutes or more to achieve stable color and brightness so you can be up and running, knowing that you can trust the images on your monitor that much faster.

The In-Plane Switching (IPS) panel has an aspect ratio of 17:9 and 1000 cd/m² screen brightness (necessary for HDR monitoring, and it uses Eizo's Digital Uniformity Equalizer technology to provide a stable uniform image with a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. A 10 ms gray-to-gray response time and 178° viewing angle provide an accurate picture from any viewing angle. The 10-bit panel can display 1.07 million colors that, when combined with its brightness capabilities, makes it more than capable of accurately displaying HDR imagery. A removable hood helps keep stray light off the screen for a better viewing experience.

HDR Gamma Curves

The ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG3146 monitor supports two gamma curves used for HDR video—hybrid log-gamma (HLG) and perceptual quantization (PQ) curve. HLG is compatible with SDR (standard dynamic range) displays and is suitable for live television broadcasting. PQ curve approximates the human visual system in terms of color and light perception, making it ideal for films, streaming, and other video content. Both gamma curves are supported by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as ITU-R BT.2100. In addition, the PQ curve is supported by SMPTE as ST-2084.

Integrated Calibration Sensor

The built-in sensor eliminates the need for a third-party calibration device. Calibration information is saved directly to the monitor, so you do not need to recalibrate if connecting to more than one PC.

Large 31.1" Screen

Whether you are creating, editing, or checking your work, this screen offers ample space to focus on 4K content. At a dense 149 ppi, it's suited for not only video editing but also photo retouching and printing.

Vivid Colors Reproduced to Industry Standards

This wide-gamut monitor faithfully reproduces 99% of the DCI-P3 standard used in digital cinema and supports the Rec. 2020 standard used in broadcasting.

Uniformity

Eizo's Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE) corrects deviations in every tine across the screen to ensure a stable display.

10-Bit Simultaneous Display

With a 10-bit simultaneous display from a 24-bit look-up-table (LUT), the ColorEdge CG319X can show more than one billion colors simultaneously. This results in smooth color gradations and reduced Delta-E between two adjacent colors.

3-Minute Ready Time

From powering on to being color stable, the monitor takes a mere three minutes, as opposed to most monitors that require at least 30 minutes before you can trust their accuracy or perform a calibration. This allows you to start working faster and lessens the amount of on-time, extending the practical life of the monitor.

Temperature Compensation

Integrated temperature sensors automatically track and compensate for variations in the monitor's temperature throughout the day.

Inputs

This monitor supports video resolutions up to DCI 4K60 via SDI, up to 12-bit 4:2:2 at 50/60p via HDMI, and up to 10-bit 4:4:4 at 50/60p via its DisplayPort input.

Broadcast and Cinema Presets

Preset modes for DCI-P3, Rec. 709, and Rec. 2020 ensure you can work in the appropriate color spaces and gamma values. In addition, preset modes for PQ (DCI and Rec. 2100) and HLG (Rec. 2100) are available for viewing HDR content.

Luminance Warning

The monitor includes a PQ and HLG Clipping function that shows the areas of an image that display at brightness levels higher than the current setting. The areas that cannot be displayed at the correct brightness with the current settings are shown in yellow or magenta. PQ and HLG Clipping can be viewed for brightness levels of 300, 500, 1000, and 4000 cd/m2.

Safe Area Marker

A safe area marker designates the area of the screen that will be displayed when the monitor is connected to a particular device. This allows you to check that subtitles and other text will be visible. The color of the marker is changeable to ensure it remains with any imagery.

Aspect Marker

An aspect marker designates the areas of the screen size that will be shown on a display device when you input DCI 4K (4096 x 2160) or DCI 2K (2048 x 1080). This allows you to confirm how the screen size and composition of the scene will appear in other viewing environments. Aspect ratios 1.85:1, 2.35:1, and 2.39:1 can be selected.

4K Zoom Function

Enlarge areas of the screen to confirm small details and check focus accuracy in photos using the 4K zoom function. It is quickly and easily accessible using the monitor's front buttons.

Rec. 709 Out-of-Gamut Warning

The monitor includes a Gamut Warning preset. When selected, the areas of a Rec. 2020 image that cannot be reproduced using Rec. 709 are indicated by converting them to shades of gray. An additional mode called Rec. 709 Clipping allows the editor to view Rec. 2020 images within the Rec. 709 color space, simulating how it would look to their audience in an HDTV environment.

Light Shielding Hood

The CG Series comes bundled with a magnetically attached shading hood that effectively prevents glare on the monitor's screen caused by ambient lighting.

Multiple Inputs

The monitor is equipped with a 12G-SDI input that also supports 6G/3G/HD-SDI. It also has three 3G/HD-SDI, a DisplayPort, and an HDMI input.

Mounting and Carrying

The monitor features a 200 x 200mm VESA mounting pattern and has two built-in handles for carrying.

ColorNavigator 7 Software:

Multiple Modes with Simultaneous Calibration

The software allows you to calibrate your monitor for multiple modes such as BT.709, BT.2020.PQ DCI, and more. You can calibrate the monitor for each mode simultaneously, so you don't have to recalibrate each time you switch modes.

3D LUT and Film Emulation

ColorNavigator 7 can create emulation data from the 3D LUT of the video content used in the color grading system for matching the look of the film on the monitor.

Local Save

The software saves the calibration information saved locally on your monitor, allowing you to move your monitor to a different computer without needing to recalibrate to each specific computer.

Language:

ColorNavigator 7 can be run in English, German, or Japanese by default and downloadable language packs allow you to run the software in additional languages.
